Emily grew up in Hertfordshire, surrounded by older siblings, cats and – whenever she could get her hands on them – chocolate biscuits. As an avid doodler, she could often be found curled up in a corner scribbling on any scrap of paper available. When Emily first started pretending to be a proper grown up, she trained as a primary school teacher and spent many happy years teaching children of all ages and specialising in art education. However, she still couldn’t resist doodling in staff meetings and finally decided it was about time she had a go at achieving her number one life goal: to have a job that involved holding a pencil! She set about learning everything she could about illustration over many many years whilst continuing to teach. She now lives in Hampshire surrounded by small children, cats and plenty of scraps of paper to draw on. She is still partial to a chocolate biscuit. Her first illustrated book ‘Lulu comes out of her shell’ written by Samantha Hunter is due to be published in the Autumn.
