About Emily

I am a qualified teacher with 15 years experience of teaching in Primary Schools and higher education settings. I have specialised in art education throughout my career. I have been a specialist art teacher in primary schools and trained future teachers in art education at the University of Reading. I am also a freelance children’s book illustrator with a love of visual storytelling (you can check out my work on this website too!) I started Art Larks as a space to enjoy my favourite part of all of these experiences - making art with amazing young people! I live in Fleet where my house is ruled by two small humans and one extremely fluffy cat.
